A pharmacy waiting area is some of the most valuable screen time in retail: the customer is stationary, they are already thinking about their health, and they usually have no idea how many of your services exist.

The screens that work here are not advertising hoardings. They are a running list of what you do, what it costs and how to book it, in the window for passers-by and behind the counter for the queue.

What screens for pharmacies actually need

Window and waiting area do different jobs

The window sells a service to someone walking past in daylight and needs to be bright. The internal screen talks to someone already waiting and can be softer and wordier.

Quiet in a quiet room

No fan noise and no flicker. A waiting area is not a shopping centre and a screen that hums is a screen you will end up switching off.

Easy to change seasonally

Flu jabs in autumn, travel clinics before summer, hay fever in spring. The content changes four or five times a year, so it has to be changeable without a visit.

Can one screen do the window and the waiting area?

Not well. A window screen has to be bright enough to fight daylight and is usually double-sided or high-brightness; a waiting-area screen sits indoors under normal lighting. They are different specifications, and buying one to do both means overpaying inside or being unreadable outside.

Do we need planning permission for a window screen?

Usually not for a screen mounted inside the glass, but it depends on your council, your frontage and whether the building is listed. Check with your local planning department before ordering — we cannot advise on it.

Can you design the service list for us?

Yes. Our in-house design is an option on every screen, and it is normally the right call here — a clear price list is worth more than a slideshow.
